For centuries herbalists have used natural herbal remedies to cure many common ailments such as inflammation, influenza and nausea, or just to increase your overall health and wellness. Some people may dismiss herbal treatments and remedies as unfounded, but the use of botanicals is well-rooted in the medical practice.

Rosemary

Rich in anti-oxidants; has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-fungal and anti-septic properties; contains Vitamin A, C, Folic Acid, Pantothenic Acid, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine, Potassium, Calcium, Iron, Copper and Magnesium.

  • Beneficial for low blood pressure and sluggishness by stimulating the central nervous system.
  • The oil is used to alleviate the pain of sciatica, neuralgia, sprains and arthritis.
  • Has historically been used to improve concentration and memory.
  • Has the ability to soothe digestive complaints by relaxing the muscles in the digestive tract.
  • Stimulates appetite and improves food digestion.

Saw Palmetto

Has anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Best known for its ability to decrease the symptoms of an enlarged prostate and, when used in conjunction with other herbs, to treat prostate cancer.
  • Traditionally used to treat sore throats, asthma, migraine headaches, colds and coughs, as a diuretic, as an aphrodisiac, and as a sedative.
  • Has been touted as an alternative to steroids for athletes who wish to increase muscle mass safely.

St. Johns Wort

Contains the compounds hypericin and hyperforin, chemical messengers in the nervous system that help to regulate mood.

  • Commonly used to treat depression and its conditions such as anxiety, loss of appetite, sleeplessness and tiredness.
  • When used in combination with Black Cohosh can help improve menopausal symptoms.
  • Has been banned in France because of its interactions with certain medications. Other countries, including the UK, Canada and Japan are evaluating the claims.

Stinging Nettle

High in Vitamin K; contain anti-inflammatory properties; rich in Vitamin A, B, C, D and K.

  • Best known for its ability to ease muscle and joint pain caused by arthritis and gout.
  • Used as an herbal remedy for hay fever due to its ability to reduce the body’s production of histamines in relation to allergens.
  • Used to treat respiratory ailments such as asthma, bronchitis and sinusitis due to its inflammation reducing properties.
  • Fresh stinging nettle can be used as a poultice to stop bleeding wounds and to stop excessive menstrual bleeding and nosebleeds.
  • Is known to interact with medications such as blood thinners, blood pressure and beta blockers.

Thyme

Is anti-septic, anti-bacterial and anti-spasmodic; contains thymol, carcacolo and geraniol; rich source of Vitamin A, K, E, C, folic acid and beta carotene.

  • Known to promote good digestion and relieve gas and bloating. Also supports a healthy balance of micro flora in the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Used to relieve sore throats, bronchial ailments, upper-respiratory inflammations and coughs.

Valerian

  • Used traditionally as a remedy for insomnia and sleep disorders, and to relieve anxiety.
  • Been known to ease stomach cramps and menstrual cramps.
  • Currently being studied for its effects on the nervous system and as a possible treatment for epilepsy, neuralgia and multiple sclerosis.
  • Used to reduce the symptoms associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
